While the High School has wrapped up classes and begun finals and Regents testing, the elementary buildings are jam packed with events and activities. I would like to remind everyone that there will be no classes or tests on Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Elementary families should also take note that the last day of classes will be Tuesday, June 25.
Take the Field
One of the most exciting end of year events at the elementary schools is Field Day. Next week the Intermediate School will kick off the first Field Day on Monday, June 17. The next day the Primary School will take their turn with our final Field Day taking place on Friday, June 21 at the Kindergarten Center. We look forward to full fields of students, staff, parents and grandparents as our Physical Education teachers provide a variety of activities. A special thank you to our PTSA for providing field day shirts for all students. Make sure to send in an extra water bottle next week!
Moving on Up
Next week will also see a pair of Moving Up Ceremonies that will take place in the High School Auditorium. On Monday, June 17 at 6:00 p.m. the eighth graders will celebrate the completion of their middle school careers and be welcomed to the High School as incoming ninth graders. The following day we will see our fifth graders tie a bow on their elementary journey with their Moving Up Ceremony on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:00 p.m.

Looking for Summer Fun
Summer is almost here and if you are looking for activities for your children, look no further than the HFCSD Recreation department. Lots of summer options are available including sports camps, field trips and even access to the community pool. Visit the Rec website for information and sign ups.
