It’s hard to believe that we are at the end of September and wrapping up our first month of school. Information was shared throughout the week about school safety and we are working diligently to educate our students about how to maintain a safe school environment and the severity of making threats. At the Middle School, SRO Woodward and Mr. Whitty held assemblies and If you have not done so yet, we ask that families have a discussion with your child about the seriousness of making a school threat and the possible consequences. Safety is our top priority and through our collaboration we can continue to provide our students with a safe school environment.
Get Involved
Parental involvement in education provides great rewards for both the parents and the students. For those looking to be involved, we have dedicated parent run organizations that are always looking for new members.

- Middle School PTSO: The MS PTSO is always actively seeking new members to bolster their organization in support of the 6th-8th grade school community! Please email them at msptso@hfcsd.org to get involved.
- Tiger Trackers Booster Club: The purpose of our Booster Club is to support and service the Hudson Falls Interscholastic Athletic programs. Meetings can be found on the district calendar and you can visit their website at https://www.hfcsd.org/athletics/booster-club/
College Caravan
Juniors and seniors at the high school were able to take part in the Fall College Caravan sponsored by the guidance office on Tuesday of this past week. Over 20 college and university admissions counselors were on hand to provide information to our students about their institutions. It is a great opportunity for our students to explore the different opportunities that exist after graduation without the burden of travel. Stay tuned for more information from the guidance department as they share college and job fairs throughout the year.
Healthy Smiles
Healthy Smiles, is a school-based dental program offered by Hudson Headwaters that provides expanded access to preventive dental services and oral health education to children throughout the North Country. Their dental team travels to area schools with their portable equipment twice each year and performs dental screenings, cleanings, sealant applications and fluoride treatments. The team refers students to local participating dentists for restorative work as needed.
This program will be making stops at our Kindergarten Center, Primary School and Intermediate School in the coming weeks. They will start with an educational presentation that will include parent opt-in forms to be sent home with students. They will then return to provide treatments for those who opted-in. Elementary families please be on the lookout for these forms coming home so that you can capitalize on this great resource.
