Dear Tiger Community,
Today we end a successful three-day pause on in-person learning. The effort I saw from our faculty and staff was responsive, efficient, and student-centered. During the pause, teachers got creative with learning from home, our kitchens continued to provide meals for our school community, and our transportation department delivered hundreds of Chromebooks to doorsteps. Not to mention our families being flexible in providing a welcoming environment for their students to learn from home. By all metrics, this was a success.
But the work is not over. Due to a large number of faculty and staff under quarantine orders from the Washington County Public Health Department, Intermediate School students will remain on remote learning through November 23rd.
Students in that building should have received their Chromebook Friday at their homes. If you did not receive yours, please contact the Intermediate School’s main office at (518) 681-4400 to arrange pickup.
Fourth and fifth-grade students should check their Google Classroom Monday morning for assignments, and be ready to learn!
Any Intermediate School family that would like a meal may pick one up at the cafeteria entrance on the Franklin Street side of our High School. Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
For the rest of the district, we will continue with our regularly scheduled in-person and hybrid schedule. Students should report to their classes as usual.
And whether you are at home or on campus, it is important to remember our protocols about wearing masks, staying socially distant, and following proper hand hygiene.
We are doing everything we can to keep your children safe, and to provide them with the best possible learning environment. We appreciate our families’ part in that job, and thank you for your continued support!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jon Hunter, Interim Superintendent
