Feb. 10, 2020 – Hudson Falls, N.Y. — The Hudson Falls Central School District Board of Education voted to appoint Bill Strong as Interim Middle School Assistant Principal Tuesday evening during their regular board meeting.
Strong has been at Hudson Falls School District for nearly two dozen years. After teaching fifth grade for five years, he moved to the Middle School, where he has been ever since. Outside the classroom, Strong also coached football and track at all levels. He currently serves on the District Leadership Team, is the current Head Football Coach at Hudson Falls, and is a Representative on the Section 2 Football Committee.
Mr. Strong credits his time as a student at Hudson Falls for inspiring his professional journey. “Mr. Jim Keenan was my elementary school principal at Burgoyne Avenue,” said Assistant Principal Bill Strong. “He created a warm, welcoming, and fun atmosphere in his building. His devotion to improving students’ lives is something I have always carried with me.”
Strong also credits former Hudson Falls Head Football Coach Tom Heinzelman for shaping him as an educator. Strong played for Coach Heinzelman during high school and later served as his assistant. “Coach always looked for the good in people and brought it out of them,” said Strong. “I will foster that same approach to those I work with in my position as Assistant Principal.”
“I am so happy to have Bill Strong join our leadership team,” said Middle School Principal William Whitty. “I’ve worked with him throughout my entire time at Hudson Falls. I’ve found him to be a creative and inspiring educator. I know he will be a great partner to help bring our building to the next level for our students!”
“On behalf of the entire board, we are excited to have Mr. Strong promoted into the role of Interim Middle School Assistant Principal,” said Board of Education President Ben Bishop. “It is always exciting when you see homegrown talent like Mr. Strong advance and take on new challenges within our school district. Mr. Strong has always made connections with his students that leave a lasting impact on them as they move on through Middle School, High School, and then into the world. He brings with him well-rounded experience as a teacher, coach, and grade level leader that will help to strengthen the Middle School leadership team and build upon the solid foundation that exists currently. Congratulations, Mr. Strong!”
