Dear Tiger Community,
The district learned on March 14 that a member of the high school community has tested positive for COVID-19. Our first priority is the safety of all of our students, faculty, and staff. Due to a large number of faculty and staff currently under quarantine, we must move to 100% remote learning for students in grades 9-12 ONLY. We plan to return to in-person hybrid learning no earlier than Monday, March 22nd. Faculty and Staff will work remotely Monday, March 15 to allow time to deep clean our facilities.
Students in grades 9-12 should join their Google Classrooms for synchronous learning. Monday is an “A” day at the high school and a Day 1 at BOCES. Beginning Tuesday, March 16, buses will depart from the high school for CTE BOCES students. A bus will be available for ECCA students Monday-Friday and will run at their regular times.
We anticipate that our athletic programs will continue their regular practice and competition schedule. Please contact your coaches with any specific questions.
Students in all other buildings will continue their regular in-person hybrid schedules. We have learned this year that we can safely continue in-person hybrid learning while the contact tracing and the testing process continue.
We will serve meals Monday-Friday for any student that wants it. Meals are served at the Franklin Street side of our high school building from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each weekday.
Outdoor internet access is available for any district-issued Chromebook device in the parking lot on the east side of the Middle School, as well as in the main parking lot of the Kindergarten Center. At the Middle School, select the network called “HFCSD-MS-EXT.” Your school Chromebook will automatically join the network. At the Kindergarten Center, select the network “HFCSD-KC-EXT” and your Chromebook will automatically join as well.
I know we are all feeling more positive and confident that there is light at the end of this COVID tunnel. And there will be, if we all continue to work together to follow state COVID regulations.
