Dear Tiger Community,
Since we returned from spring recess, the district has learned that two members of the intermediate school community, as well as two members of the high school community, have tested positive for COVID-19. As always, our first priority is the safety of all of our students, faculty, and staff. We continue to collaborate with county health partners, as well as our district health staff, and have completed contact tracing. All affected students and staff have been notified so that they can be supported and our school community remains safe and healthy.
At this time, all schools will remain open for in-person hybrid learning. That is thanks to our continued focus on strict COVID-19 precautions. We have implemented 100% mask-wearing in our buildings. We are keeping classroom windows open as appropriate, and have continued thorough cleaning of our facilities both during the day, as well as at night. Those steps have allowed us to lower the impact of a single positive case.
However, each case and instance is different. We are also working closely with our Washington County Health Partners after a community case was identified in our boy’s soccer program. As the county continues its contract tracing and tracking efforts, all junior varsity and varsity boys soccer team activities are paused. We will inform our soccer families as to when soccer activities can resume and possible quarantine responsibilities.
We are learning, and improving how we mitigate the impacts of COVID-19. But there is still hard work ahead. And we need your help to continue to keep our doors open to students. We must all work together to follow state COVID regulations. Wear a mask. Avoid large gatherings. Keep an eye on the Washington County Health Department COVID-19 tracker page daily for updates and changes.
