Dear Tiger Community,
The district learned on April 16 that a member of the intermediate school community has tested positive for COVID-19. Our first priority is the safety of all of our students, faculty, and staff. Due to a large number of faculty and staff currently under quarantine, we must move to 100% remote learning for students in grades 4 & 5 ONLY. We plan to return to in-person hybrid learning no earlier than Monday, April 26th. Students should log into their Google Classrooms Monday morning and be ready to learn. State testing of students in those grades will be postponed until Tuesday, April 27th.
Faculty and Staff not a part of the contract tracing process should report to work as scheduled on Monday, April 19th.
Students in all other buildings will continue their regular in-person hybrid schedules. We have learned this year that we can safely continue in-person hybrid learning while the contact tracing and the testing process continue.
We will serve meals Monday-Friday for any students working remotely due to this pause. Meals are served at the Franklin Street side of our high school building from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each weekday.
Outdoor internet access is available for any district-issued Chromebook device in the parking lot on the east side of the Middle School, as well as in the main parking lot of the Kindergarten Center. At the Middle School, select the network called “HFCSD-MS-EXT.” Your school Chromebook will automatically join the network. At the Kindergarten Center, select the network “HFCSD-KC-EXT” and your Chromebook will automatically join as well.
This is a good opportunity to remind everyone of our health status reporting app, Good2BeBack. We strongly urge all our students and staff to check in on the app daily. The data from Good2BeBack helps our health services team reduce the impact of a single COVID-19 positive case. Other ways you can help us keep our doors open to students – wear a mask the entire time you are on campus and on busses. Avoid large gatherings. Avoid unnecessary travel. And visit the Washington County Health Department COVID-19 tracker page daily for updates.
