Continued COVID Communications

Dear Tiger Community,

We wanted to follow up with you all about how we are communicating with families in the event of a COVID-19 positive case in our school community. You may have read our previous message where we explained some new Washington County Health Department quarantine protocols 2021-22 when there is potential COVID exposure at school or on the school bus. In those cases, the district will work closely with Washington County to determine the students and staff who must quarantine.

We will always notify families if your child needs to quarantine. That communication will come in the form of an automated phone call. Please note that New York State and federal privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

In addition, we will post a notification letter on our website hfcsd.org each time there is a positive case in our district.  In grades 6-12, students that have been classified a low exposure by contact tracers will not need to quarantine, and will not receive any additional communication.

I always welcome your feedback. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at questions@hfcsd.org. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

Sincerely,

Dan Ward, Superintendent
