Hello Tiger Family,
It’s been a busy week with a lot of new guidance and information coming out. I wanted to share the following updates with you.
Test to Stay
At the time of this writing, we are sure we are starting our Test to Stay program. The intent of the Test to Stay program is to keep as many students in school as possible. Test to Stay would allow your unvaccinated student to stay in school should they be exposed to COVID or become symptomatic, and test negative on a rapid test.
The very first thing we need from you is permission to include your child in this program. Please take 30 seconds to fill out this form. Once we have these permissions and our partners at Washington County DOH are able to provide County-specific interpretation of the guidance released on 1/13/2022 we will communicate the appropriate specifics of how we will move forward.
Booster Shots
If your child is eligible but has not received a booster shot, the CDC now recommends booster shots for those aged 12 and older. The Aviation Mall offers immunizations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Burgoyne Avenue Campus also offers weekly pre-registered booster clinics.
Test Results
If your child is awaiting PCR test results, please contact your child’s school nurse and be ready to demonstrate proof of testing. If your child’s PCR results come back positive, please send the school nurse your isolation period papers provided by Washington County Health, which include specific dates of isolation issued by the county.
If your child has taken a home rapid test and has tested positive, please contact your school nurse and self-report through Washington County.
For the most up-to-date information, please refer to the Washington County Health Department’s website.
As always, if your child isn’t feeling well, please keep them home. Thank you for your continued support and partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Sincerely,
Dan Ward, Superintendent
