Hello Tiger Family,
It has been another great week. Spring will soon be here and we are grateful for a bit of a return to normalcy! COVID numbers continue to trend down as we are gearing up for a busy spring both indoors and out.
As we begin to move on beyond the pandemic, we have continued to tout the integral role attendance plays in academic success and we are excited to announce we will be kicking off our incentive campaign called “Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow” for all UPK-12 students on Monday, March 21.
All students need to do is attend school, on time, to be entered to win a number of prizes, from gift cards and Hudson Falls swag to certain privileges such as a homework or recess pass for our younger students, and special VIP parking spots or low-grade drops, for our secondary students.) Winners will be chosen on Friday and prizes will be awarded on Monday so keep your eyes on our social media channels celebrating our students.
As always, we can’t accomplish this without parents and guardians as partners. Research shows that missing just two days a month is 10% of the school year, and negatively affects a student’s academic performance. Over the course of the year, those two days a month add up to an entire month of school that your child is missing out on. Together we can help our students combat chronic absenteeism and return to their pre-pandemic routines.
Beyond this attendance incentive, Hudson Falls offers other support services that can assist you and your student with attendance concerns.
In other district news, a special shoutout to our Varsity Girls Cheer Comp Team who made a respectable showing at states this past weekend wrapping up a very successful winter sports season. Congratulations to all of our winter athletes, and good luck to our spring athletes who get underway next week. We also saw the return of our annual Middle School dodgeball tournament Tuesday night, allowing the community, students, and staff to come together for a great cause.
