The week concluded with one of our school community’s favorite milestones – Kindergarten Registration. Seeing many of our “Class of 2035” eager faces on campus is a reminder of how truly important our work together is – supporting and appreciating our students as they progress along each grade level.
As you enjoy your weekend and look to the week ahead, I am excited to share that there will be a way for you to experience and appreciate the work of our students, as well as several ways to provide HFCSD with some important feedback.
We have launched a survey that allows your voice to be heard. Your input is important to us as we continue to shape how our schools run and ensure our students’ experiences stay true to the values and needs of the community. I have recorded a brief video – A Request from Supt. Ward – asking you to use a small amount of your valuable time to complete it. A web story – What Are Your Experiences in Our Schools? – includes the QR codes and links to take it. Please accept my sincere appreciation for providing your feedback!
On Tuesday, May 17 there will be an opportunity to take in the arts with students’ work on display while the annual budget vote is conducted from noon to 8 p.m. in the gymnasium. As I have previously shared, the 2022-23 budget has a 0% tax levy increase. Also on the ballot are:
a bus proposition for four vehicles; a $250,000 capital reserve proposition; and two Board of Education seats, each seeking a five-year term. In addition to the printed newsletter your household received in the mail last week, see the 2022-23 Budget Plan for more details.
Finally, we hope our Class of 2022 enjoys prom this Saturday, May 14. Following the 3:30-4:30 p.m. coronation in the high school auditorium, the dinner and dance is being held in Saratoga, as well as the after prom event. The theme, enchanted garden, is very fitting for our graduating class, who after several extraordinarily challenging years, deserve a wonder-filled evening. We wish them a fun and safe time!
