October is National Principals Month! On behalf of the Hudson Falls Central School District, thank you Principal McTague, Principal Struwing, Principal Whitty, and Principal Hogan for your continued dedication to our mission and the care you provide for students and staff. Your leadership makes our district great! We are fortunate to have you on our team.
Hang-up and Drive Assembly
On Tuesday, October 31st, our high school will be joined by the husband and wife team, Steve Johnson and Jacy Good, for “Hang up and Drive”, a program aimed at raising awareness around the dangers of distracted driving. Johnson and Good became public speakers and advocates for phone-free roads after an automobile crash that claimed the lives of Jacy’s parents and left her partially paralyzed. The pair has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and People Magazine, and spoken at over 1,500 events in 43 states and 3 countries.
The presentation will take place from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. in the auditorium and will be open to juniors and seniors. Students are asked to not use their early dismissal or open campus privileges so they can attend this informative assembly.
Trunk or Treat
The Hudson Falls Central School District will host our Second Trunk or Treat event at the High School on Saturday, October 28th. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on the Franklin Street side of the high school. The event will take place rain or shine, tables will be set up inside the school if there is inclement weather.
Food, face painting, and candy will be available for all attendees. There will be a small basket raffle during this time with the proceeds going towards Operation Santa Claus. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume!
Operation Santa Claus
Operation Santa Claus is a non-profit organization that provides clothing for local families in need during the holidays. Over 25,000 children receive gifts of food and clothing through funding from OSC every year. This program has been a staple in the HFCSD community for years, giving our local children and families the resources they need for the holiday season.
If your family is looking for assistance or you know of a family in need, please contact the child’s school. Applications will be due Friday, November 3rd.
