The Governor recently released her 2024-25 executive budget proposal including reduced funding for schools and changes to how school funding is calculated, we urge you to have your voice heard by the Governor and our elected representatives in the State Senate and Assembly. Below is a link to some tools put together by the New York State School Boards Association (NYSBAA) that allow you to Take Action now. Again, the main concern for our District, if the Governor’s budget is passed without revisions, is lower than anticipated School Foundation Aid. NYSSBA has created a list of budget priorities many of which have some level of impact to our district moving forward.
NYSSBA has also created a fast and easy “Take Action” email letter that will automatically be sent to the Governor and our state legislators. The letter includes NYSSBA’s budget priorities, but is customizable to fit any other issues you feel face our community.
