This week we honor a freshman making a splash on the wrestling mat, and a senior pouring on the points in basketball.
First up, wrestler Dom Doyle. The freshman competes in the 99-pound weight class. Wrestling coach Mike Prendergast said Dom finished second in class CC’s to a state qualifier in the sectional match, despite never competing in sectionals before!
“Despite the loss, Dom finished strong at sectionals,” said Coach Mike Prendergast. “He came back and upset past sectional place finishers to finish in 3rd place in the whole section.”
Outside of wrestling, Dom is an honors student and volunteers as a referee in the Hudson Falls youth wrestling tournament.
Next up is an athlete of the week regular Senior Point Guard Brinley Inglee! Coach Ross Cortese said Brinley recently averaged 20 points, 6 rebounds in wins vs Scotia and Broadalbin-Perth.
