This week we honor the new football quarterback and a volleyball standout as our athletes of the week!
First up is Stephen Currier. The junior has more slashes on his resume than Kordell Stewart. He has played wide receiver, running back, linebacker, and most recently taken over as quarterback.
“Stephen is highly reliable and intelligent,” said Head Football Coach Bill Strong. “Both in terms of football IQ and his school work.”
Coach Strong went on to say that Stephen excels outside the gridiron as well, and was recently accepted into the National Honor Society.
Also earning honors this week is Mollie Burch. The junior is a middle hitter on the volleyball team. In a recent game against Johnston, she posted a team-high of 14 kills!
“Molli is a great teammate who makes everyone on the team feel comfortable and welcome,” said Volleyball Coach Sarah Carney. “She truly loves to compete and it shows in everything she does on and off the court.”
Coach Carney said Molli is leading the offense in hitting percentage, as well as overall blocks.
Congratulations to both of this week’s winners!
