Superintendent’s Message

Dear Tiger Family,

This past year we are excited and thankful that our community approved our next capital project that allows the district to stay on top of maintenance items and continue to modernize learning spaces for our students without disrupting their education. This capital project work is under the planning and approval phase and we are hopeful to see the capital project break ground next summer and continue for the next few summers in phases. By updating our learning and gathering spaces, we hope to continue to inspire pride and excitement in our schools.

Our “Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow” campaign will remain a cornerstone principle of our mission, vision, and values. Attendance makes student success possible and remains the key ingredient to your child’s future success. No student should miss out on all the opportunities offered, allowing them to grow and reach their potential.

As we shift our focus to the 2024-25 academic year we look forward to fully implementing our strategic plan through the development of building specific objectives and strengthening our shared focus that includes high standards and expectations for all students. At the elementary buildings, a strong focus will be placed on systematic phonics and literacy instruction.  These efforts are always aimed at  increasing the percentage of students reading on or above grade level. Middle school students will continue to grow in their understanding of how project based learning develops their communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills. High school students will continue to see a curriculum that aligns with the goal of graduation and civic readiness. Building goals connect back to our district mission of creating engaged, lifelong learners.

We recognize the importance of high levels of communication and will continue to build upon clear and consistent practices across all buildings. Parentsquare, our school communications platform, allows seamless communications between community and school. Because relationships and communication are the foundation to your child’s success, should you ever need to contact my office with questions or concerns please do not hesitate.

Each year brings new opportunities and challenges and as a district we want to foster a climate of trust through shared responsibilities and partnership.

Sincerely,

Daniel Ward, Superintendent of Schools
