Hudson Falls High School junior Chris Petteys reached his 100th win milestone at the Dec. 28 Queensbury Holiday Wrestling Tournament.
Chris began wrestling for the varsity team as an eighth-grader and has competed in the 106-pound weight class and 99-pound weight class.
“Chris is the type of kid you have only once or twice in a coaching career. He’s a hard-worker and leads by example. He’s a leader both in the classroom and on the wrestling mat,” said head coach Michael Prendergast.
Chris also wrestles for club teams, helps coach the district’s youth wrestling program and is a member of the National Honor Society.
“His 100th win was awesome. I’ve been lucky to coach a few kids that have reached that milestone, and to know how hard he worked for that accomplishment, brought a smile to my face. And he has a lot more to accomplish. He’s a very driven kid and he still has more goals to fulfill,” said Prendergast.
