Hudson Falls High School senior Jenna Dunbar, who recently collected accolades for her involvement with FFA and winning the prestigious Bill Liddle Memorial Scholarship, warrants additional recognition for completing her Regeneron STS application. Regeneron STS is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science research competition for high school students.
Her research topic is:
“Supplement Use Across Various Equine Disciplines In The United States”
“This is a huge accomplishment just to be able to apply and finish the application process. The Regeneron STS application is one of the most robust, difficult applications students will do” according to her Science Research Instructor Tom Vartulli. “This achievement is a representation of her hard work, resilience and ingenuity over the last three years.”
The competition is open to all 12th grade students from across the US. In order to apply, they need to submit a completed 20+ page research paper (of which they have developed over the last 3 years). The application also entailed answering several essay prompts, as well as providing 3 recommendations. Each application is professionally vetted by a panel of PhD scientists, mathematicians or engineers in the particular subject of the applicant. There are approximately 2000 applicants from across the country and from that, 300 are picked as semi-finalists and then 40 are chosen as finalists.
The HFCSD Tiger community wishes Jenna continued success in her Science Research pursuits and congratulates her on all of her deserved achievements.
