Mrs. Fillicetti’s classroom at the Kindergarten Center has been filled with new equipment geared to students’ sensory needs, thanks to a grant from the Under the Woods Foundation.
The foundation supports special education classrooms seeking special equipment. It also provides funds for children with special needs to attend camps, special events, or other enriching activities that promote health and well-being.
Mrs. Fillicetti’s classroom now contains a swivel spin seat, weighted stuffed animals and blankets, fidgets and sensory supports, fine motor tools, and flexible seating.
“These tools will help our students learn in ways that really support their unique needs,” said Assistant Principal Melissa Whitman, “We are grateful for the Under the Woods Foundation and for Mrs. Fillicetti’s work in obtaining the grant.”
