Happy New Year! It is a new calendar year but our academic pursuits picked back up this week after what I hope was a restful and recharging holiday break. Serving as a reminder, there will be no classes on Monday, January 20 for Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Wednesday, January 29 for Asian Lunar New Year. The High School will also have REGENTS testing week from Tuesday, January 21 through Friday January 24.
Green Carpet
Looking for something to do last minute tonight? Tonight is the “Green Carpet” event hosted by the Tiger Trackers Booster Club. Beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the high school there will be backyard games, concessions and an opportunity to get your picture taken with the Tiger mascot and athletes. The event is being held in conjunction with the boys basketball game against South Glens Falls with JV starting at 5:30 p.m. and varsity tipping at 7:00 p.m. In between games you won’t want to miss the recognition of some of our new teachers to the district as we celebrate Tiger pride.
Girls Night Out
Our Varsity Competitive Cheer team is hosting a “Girl’s Night Out” fundraiser on Saturday, January 18 from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the middle school. Open to girls in UPK through grade six with activities such as: hair/nail salon, dance studio, games and arts and crafts. Cost is $20 per girl and pre-registration and payment arrangements can be made by clicking here. Any additional questions should be directed to hudsonfallscheerleading@gmail.com.
Open House And Info Sessions
WSWHE BOCES has many great opportunities available to our students and will be hosting some upcoming events to learn how the programs help students prepare for careers and college through hands-on learning, internships, and partnerships with business and industry.
- Early College Career Academy (ECCA) Information Session will take place on January 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at both SUNY Adirondack campuses.
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) program open houses will take place at the Southern Adirondack Education Center in Hudson Falls on January 14, 2025 at the F. Donald Myers Education Center in Saratoga Springs on January 16, 2025. Both events will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Boost The Backpack
A reminder that all month long at the Kingsbury Hannaford if you purchase a reusable Fight Hunger Bag, our Intermediate School will receive $1. All the money raised will go toward purchasing food and supplies for our Food Backpack program. It’s a great bag and a great way to help!
