October welcomes a fresh month and if you have been in our buildings you may notice a fresh new look as interior painting nears completion. The district has done a lot of work to make our learning spaces look and feel more supportive of student engagement. This includes a summer remodel of 28 classrooms that were equipped with new furniture and accessories to meet a variety of student learning needs. You can read more about the furniture and check out pictures from a story that ran earlier this week on our website.
Schedule Change
In case you missed it, we have made a change to our original academic calendar for Friday, October 11. The Early Release Day scheduled for October 11, 2024 is being adjusted. In its place we will be holding a two-hour late arrival for students. This two-hour window was provided for staff development and we found too many students were adversely affected by the early dismissal prompting the shift to a late arrival. Looking ahead, the next last two-hour staff development day is Thursday, January 9 which will also be a two-hour late arrival as originally scheduled.
Trunk or Treat
The Hudson Falls Central School District will host our third annual Trunk or Treat event at the High School Franklin Street entrance on Saturday, October 26. The event will run from 10:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. If you would like to decorate a trunk for the event, please email Mrs. Struwing at astruwing@hfcsd.org by Friday, October 11. Food, activities, and candy will be available for all attendees.
