Welcome to the final Talking Tigers of 2024!  As we approach our holiday break, I want to express my sincere thanks to everyone in our Hudson Falls Central School District community for making 2024 a great year. Our winter break runs from Friday, December 20, through Friday, January 3, with classes resuming on Monday, January 6. I’m excited to see what we’ll accomplish together in 2025. Wishing everyone a wonderful and restful holiday break!

Hudson Falls VEX Robotics Teams Gearing Up 

Twenty-nine Hudson Falls middle and high school students attended the 36th Annual Technology Awareness Day. Participating students showcased their coding, driving, and engineering skills to area school districts in advance of their competition season.

Our four middle school VEX IQ teams will compete in:

-Queensbury Schools Rapid Relay Tournament, January 18 at Queensbury Middle School

-Lake George Classic Rapid Relay Tournament, January 25 at Lake George Elementary

-Adirondack Classic, February 22 at Queensbury Middle School. 

Doors open at 9:00 a.m. for all 3 competitions. 

The 12th Annual Northern New York State VEX IQ Championships will be held on March 5 at The Oncenter in Syracuse. 

The high school V5 team will compete in:

-RPI 2025 VEX Robotics Competition High Stakes Tournament, January 20 at the RPI Alumni Sports and Recreation Center. Doors open at 8:00 a.m.

Local Fun For Break

Looking for fun activities to fill your holiday recess? From music to family-friendly events, Washington County has it all. You can see a calendar of activities on the official Washington County website. In addition to the year-round attractions, the county has scheduled light shows and other holiday happenings for community members to enjoy.

The Hudson Falls Public Library has special events planned for all ages during break, visit their website for more information on offerings and hours. You can view the holidays events the library will offer using their events calendar.

Boost The Backpack Program At Hannaford

Purchase a reusable Fight Hunger Bag at the Hannaford at 3758 Burgoyne Avenue, and our intermediate school will receive $1. All the money raised will go toward purchasing food and supplies for our Food Backpack program. It’s a great bag and a great way to help!
