Talking HF Tigers 9/8

Welcome back Tigers. It is that time of the year again where we will provide our weekly Talking HF Tigers newsletter, to keep you up to date with past and upcoming events. I want to thank all families for their cooperation and participation in making the first day of school a resounding success. I would also like to thank the teachers and students for their resilience on a unique opening day that felt an awful lot like summer.

Capital Project Update

All of the buildings in our district were being addressed throughout the summer and many of you will notice the secure vestibule entrances at each of our schools nearing completion. We ask that you stay tuned for more information from the buildings regarding changes to drop off and pick ups as well as with procedures for visiting our buildings. In our High School, books are going back on shelves in the library space and chairs are being installed in our auditorium. Events are slated to be hosted in these spaces as soon as next week as we look forward to showcasing these remarkable improvements that will benefit the entire district in the months and years to come.

KC Meet and Greet, MS Open House, and HS Freshmen Orientation Turnout

Parents and guardians being involved in their child’s education is an important component to their academic success.  Open houses and freshmen orientation saw large turnouts of parents and guardians. Thank you for this investment in your child/children’s education. Just showing up sends a powerful message that we are all in this together!  Please see the important dates section below so you don’t miss our next set of parent events.

Not Too Early to Show Tiger Spirit

Maybe one of the most rewarding ways to display our Tiger pride is the annual “Jug” game with our rival Glens Falls. We look forward to another exciting installment of this rivalry football game and encourage our community to show support and excitement for all of our Tigers. Presence at school events, supports student efforts, talents, and commitment to being a Tiger. From the athletic fields to the stage and everywhere in between, we look forward to seeing you in your green and white. This Saturday kickoff is at 12:30 p.m. at the High School. Following the game a very special helicopter ball drop will take place, as a fundraiser for a scholarship in the name of John Barbieri Jr., a longtime coach for Hudson Falls. This fundraiser is being put together by the class of 2024, and balls may be purchased at the game if supplies remain.
