Talking HF Tigers 10/11

Thank you to all of our families for making accommodations to the original schedule today with our two-hour late arrival. This two-hour time period allowed our staff to receive professional development specific to our district strategic plan and building goals. The next scheduled late arrival will be on Thursday, January 9, 2025. Also note that there will be no school this Monday, October 14 in observance of Columbus Day.

Fire Safety

The Primary and Intermediate Schools took part in fire safety this week. Members from the Kingsbury Volunteer Hose Company and the Hudson Falls Volunteer Fire Department led important discussions with our students about how to respond to emergency situations involving smoke and fire. These presentations encouraged students to have a conversation at home with their families about what the household plan is for evacuation, a meeting place outside the home in the event of an evacuation and making sure smoke detectors are being regularly checked. Please take a minute to have these conversations with your children and thank you to our local fire departments for assisting in fire safety education.

Spirit Week

Spirit Week kicked off today at the High School and will start Tuesday at the Middle School. Students have chosen themes to dress up for each day leading up to Friday, October 18 when the Middle School and High School will hold their Fall pep rallies.

High School Homecoming & Middle School Glow Dance

The Homecoming Dance will be on Friday, October 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the High School. The dance will wrap up Homecoming and Spirit week and tickets will be on sale during lunches for $10 with no tickets available at the door.

The Middle School will also host a Glow Dance that same evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Middle School. Tickets will be $3 on sale during lunches next week. Ticket price includes a glow bracelet. Snacks, drinks and glow gear will also be available for purchase at the dance.

Agriculture Success

Evelyn from Mrs. Ecker’s 2nd grade class and Ford from Team Oneonta at the Middle School traveled to Madison, Wisconsin during the week of September 30, 2024 to show their heifers at the World Dairy Expo. Dairy cattle from all over the United States and Canada are exhibited at the show and we are proud to have two Hudson Falls students on this International stage.  Congratulations Evelyn and Ford, who attended the expo representing Ideal Dairy Farm located in Hudson Falls.
