Welcome to the Kindergarten Center! We enjoy our young students and work hard to help them develop a love for learning. Our job is to build the foundations for education, particularly in the areas of ELA and math. We encourage each child to utilize their strengths to become enthusiastic, lifelong learners. To achieve a successful school year and meet the expectations of the learning standards, we need your involvement and support. We have an outstanding staff, and we will work closely with you to ensure your child feels safe and enjoys every opportunity to succeed.

We recognize that celebrations like holiday parties, birthdays, and special snacks are important parts of the school experience. In an effort to create a safe environment for students, we have implemented an Allergy Snack Procedure for the entire district while children are in class. During the first few weeks of school at the Kindergarten Center, the teachers teach our students how to follow the Tiger Way. We use our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) lesson to teach these skills to students. Students are rewarded at the end of the week with our Tiger Way Cart. Throughout the school year, we stress the importance of being responsible, respectful, and safe. These themes are woven into our morning announcements, classroom lessons, and assemblies that work nicely into our Character Education and SEL lessons.

Classrooms use many supplies throughout the year and while it’s not necessary that your child bring anything except a backpack, we know that some students and parents like to shop for school supplies. Below is a suggested list of school supplies that students use throughout the year:
- Glue sticks
- Crayons
- Pencils
- Dry Erase markers
- Highlighters
- Colored pencils

Please contact the Social Work Associates and/or School Counselors if you are in need of supplies. Nemer Ford has generously donated backpacks with basic supplies of folder, notebooks, pens, pencils, markers and some headphones. -

CURRICULUM

The enVisionMATH program is a core curriculum for students in kindergarten through grade six. The program aims to help students develop a deep understanding of math concepts through problem-based instruction, small-group interaction, and visual learning, with a focus on reasoning and modeling.

One95 Phonics is a comprehensive system for literacy instruction that includes a whole-class core phonics program, along with intervention tools for more targeted support. Phonics instruction occurs in a daily thirty-minute block, building core decoding skills. Reading teachers support our classroom teachers to ensure students have a solid foundation with letter and sound relationships.

The Wonders curriculum integrates print and digital resources to teach foundational skills connected to reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students build knowledge and key understandings across time, borders, and cultures by developing background knowledge, vocabulary, language structures, and verbal reasoning skills. Whole-group, small-group, and independent targeted work are built into this program.
